2025 CrossFit Open & Intramural Open

Overview

The 2025 CrossFit Open is just around the corner & so is the CrossFit Good Fortune Intramural Open!!

From seasoned competitors to first-time athletes, the Open welcomes all to take part in the world's largest participatory sporting event. Over three weeks and three workouts, you'll challenge yourself and have some fun alongside your fellow athletes.

Just starting out in your CrossFit journey? The Open is the best benchmark to see what we can work on together.

 

When is it?

  • The Open runs from Feb. 27–March 17. 
  • We will be programming the Open workouts on Saturdays: (March 1, March 8 & March 15).
  • 8AM will be run as a regular class for those that want to do the workout, but are not participating in the Open.
  • Heats will be set up in PushPress starting at 9AM.  Heat timing will depend on the workout, required time cap & reset time.
  • Athletes should arrive early to allow time for warm up, workout briefings as well as to cheer on your teammates!
  • Workout briefings will be held at 9AM and approximately at 10AM (depending upon heat times) to review the workout, standards & scaling options
  • Judge volunteers, thank you in advance for your help & for volunteering your time! To provide support, each heat will run with a head judge to provide additional guidance & answer any questions that arise.

What if I can’t make Saturdays?

If athletes cannot make Saturday mornings, they will need to complete the workout at another time during the week.  Workouts can be done during Open gym or at another arranged time.  Open gym will be available on Fridays at 6:30PM during the Open.

  • Week 1: Thursday February 27 - Wednesday March 5
  • Week 2: Thursday March 6 - Wednesday March 12
  • Week 3: Thursday March 13 - Monday March 17 

                    **Note: Week 3 will be a short week**

Judging

Athletes completing the workouts for submission to the CrossFit Open

Coach judge is required or athlete that has completed the 2025 Judges Course

Athletes completing the workouts for Intramural open

Judge will either be a coach or a volunteer judge from an opposing team

We will have at least 1 coach/head judge per heat to ensure reps are to standard & answer any questions

How can I score points for my team?

Workout Scoring:

Points will be distributed based on the leader board for each workout

Example: 1st place is worth 100 points

  • Rx: 1:1
  • Scaled: .8:1 
  • Scoring Bonus: Achieving stimulus/target of the workout (.2:1)
    • Example: If a scaled athlete gets the quickest time they’d be awarded .8x100 points.  If they achieve the stimulus of the workout they get an extra .2 which would bring the score in line with an Rx athlete.  Rx Athlete that achieves the stimulus would get 1.2 x points awarded for their placement.

Rx Definition:  Completing the entire workout as prescribed for Athletes Class

Scaled Definition:  Modifying any movement or reps

  • If an athlete starts Rx and reaches a movement they can’t complete & then scale, they will continue to accumulate reps but the workout is considered scaled.

Bonus Points: (5 points each, 1x per week)

  • Completing the workout
  • 3 class check-ins during the week (CrossFit, Gymnastics or Olympic Weightlifting) 
  • Completing/logging the monthly challenge for each day of the week
  • Doing something with your fitness outside of the gym & tagging us in social media post (internal Social Feed on PP or Instagram tag) **One per week
    • Example: Going for a run, doing yoga, playing a sport, going for a hike.  How are you using your fitness outside of the gym
  • Participation in the week’s theme
    • Week 1: Neon/80s Week
    • Week 2: Comic Con Week (i.e.DC, Marvel, Star Wars)
    • Week 3: Team Week (Colors and/or Costume: Green, Grey/Silver, Red)
  • Judging during a heat

How do I sign up?

Intramural Sign Up

Preferred last day to sign up is Monday February 24th so we can finalize teams

Last minute signups will be allowed during the first weekend

  • 10 Bonus Points if you sign up for the intramural open by 2/24

It is encouraged to also sign up for the 2025 CrossFit Open (games.crossfit.com)

  • Note: No bonus points will be awarded this year for signing up for the CrossFit Open
